Day One of my impromptu trip to New York was spent galavanting in Manhattan's streets and drinking cosmos with friends on the rooftops of skyscrapers. It felt surreal to be an ant in the concrete jungle, trying to take in everything we could in 24 hours. Subways were confusing yet exciting, we traveled to midtown to eat brunch at the infamous A Friend of a Farmer before going into town to visit the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art). We ended the night meeting up with a good friend of mine from Seattle who was living in the city for the last 5 months, and she showed us around the Highline and took us to a trendy upscale seafood restaurant where 6'4" modelesque hosts and waitresses made us feel like hobbits, LOL. By sunset we found ourselves soaking in the breathtaking rooftop views of the Standard Hotel fully equipped with a swanky uptown bar downstairs, of course. The day was the epitome of a Manhattan dream, only we had to experience it ourselves for it to become a reality.
